The Great Outdoors
This past weekend we took Makenna on her first real camping trip. She had the time of her life! It was so exciting to see her explore and love getting into all the dirt. Rex, Diane and Sarah's boys came along too and it was great to have them there.

Nick's shirt says "A little dirt won't hurt". Here he is showing Makenna just what that means :)
Then he helped her really get into it. She was covered!
We had a good campfire that Jackson and Isaac were so faithful at keeping going. By the end of the evening it finally got really cold so it was nice. As for sleeping that night, it was pretty awful. Makenna did NOT sleep well in the tent and much of the night was spent calming her down. But Brad and I fully anticipated it to be bad, so I think we had pretty good attitudes about it.
In the morning after breakfast we went on an adventure. Rex drove his truck through the creek and we drove up the mountain aways. We rode in the back :) All the boys threw rocks at the top trying to hit bushes. I love how easily boys can entertain themselves.
When we got home we were so tired, but also glad to have had such a fun time.

A lot of Jackson and Isaac's time was spent at the creek right next to our campsite. Brad helped them build some bridges with the big logs so we could all cross the water.

Spring
We started off the spring with a trip to the zoo. A lot of the animals were out in the morning so we got a pretty good show of the elephants and the orangutan. Here we are at the petting zoo. Makenna was a little scared of the animals.
Christie and Savannah Came with us. Savannah LOVED all the animals. It was very cute how she wanted to touch them.
Makenna liked the tractor.
Now that Makenna is a little older, we were able to go to Carolyn's easter egg hunt. She always puts on a fun event for everyone.
Makenna loves her cousin Samantha, and was more interested in the eggs in Samantha's basket than her own.
With it being pretty warm, I've filled up some buckets and let makenna play outside in the water. Here she is in her new swimsuit.

Growing up too fast
OH Makenna you need to stop growing up so fast. She isn't a little baby anymore and is slipping into toddler hood. New words seem to enter vocabulary everyday, and though she is very sweet she is developing the art of tantrum quite well
Makenna has always enjoyed helping with the dishes in the dishwasher ( pulling out every piece of silverware I put in) and was even more excited about the promotion to bubble duty at the sink.
Makenna has really gotten into gardening lately and makes sure to rotate all the dirt in all the ground level planters.
Makenna is fully smitten with Lady and the Tramp. She asks to watch the "woo woo" movie pretty often. This is a rare moment of relaxation, because she is always on the go. She had a cold this weekend, so I got her to lay down for a few mins.
Anytime we are somewhere that had this baby stroller, she would push it around forever. I finally got her one and she has already used it so much. Every twenty mins or so her babies go for a "Wa" (walk). The walks are always very intense. Needless to say, one of the best $10 spent.
