Honeymoon

We went to San Diego on our Honeymoon for just a couple of days. We had planned to stay a little longer but we both started feeling sick so we headed home. We still had a good time. At the hotel, when they found out we were on our honeymoon they gave a few extra dinners tickets for the restaurant below the hotel. It was kind-of a fun place. It was decorated like a old fisherman's tavern.

 One Sunday we tried to find a church that met later in the day so we could sleep in. When we go to sacrament meet we realized it was a singles ward. We could help but laugh because, we weren't single anymore, We were married!  

 Visited the San Diego Temple

 Walked along the beach. We had intentions to get in the water and try out some boogie boards. We had wet suits and had even tried them out in Brad's parents pool on Christmas eve, but we gave up on that idea once we were there and already starting to feel a little sick. It was too cold :)

Brad and Lisa's Wedding

We both finished up the semester of school and I went through the temple and received my endowments on Dec 15th.  What a wonderful experience. Just a few short days after Christmas we were married on December 28th. We had much of our families with us as we were sealed. It was overcast and a little raining but that's OK, we were just excited to be married.

The woman who made our wedding cake didn't realized we were going to cut the extra cake she made and not the real one (styrofoam). So the cake was frozen! This is us trying to cut through the brick of a cake.

Cream under the door handle... nice. Also as we drove away It started to rain pretty hard. So Brad naturally turned on the windshield wipers, the only problem was there were oreos stuck to the front of it and as the wipers went across it smeared the whole windshield. I seriously thought we were going to die on our wedding night trying to navigate the car to a car wash in the rain. We went through the car wash several times and it still didn't get it all clean!

Christie and Allie helped us take some pictures. Brad and I couldn't agree on one to send out. So we sent out the first three with our wedding announcement .

November 2006

Throughout November Brad was still sick and even though it was pretty taxing on him (and me) we still had fun. We were really busy with school and working. We bought our first car together, a 1999,stick shift Nissan Sentra. I moved back into Shalimar (Home) ward at some point in the fall and was working as a nursery worker. Brad really enjoyed working with the young men.

Brad's Family tradition is to hike up A mountain on Thanksgiving morning.

We were moving forward with wedding plans too. Scheduled for Dec 28th. Christie took some picture for us that we used as our engagement photos.

October 2006

Brad started getting really sick. He thought it was strep, but it ended up being Mono. He was so sick, he was wiped out all the time and could hardly go and do anything. 

September 2006

In September I was working now at Brad's uncle's Dentist office and going to school at MCC. Brad was able to get a job with Brother Gordan at the McClintock Seminary.

By this time we were ready to get engaged, we had already talked about getting married since the summer. I was a little wary of being so young, but I had such a good feeling that he would be a good man and we would have a great family. There was one little thing keeping us from getting engaged, neither of us had much money at all. He was waiting to sell his truck so he could have enough money for a ring.  During this month I went with Brad's family to their Thomas Family Reunion in Young AZ. While we were there the grounds keeping of the camp actually offered to buy Brad's truck! What a blessing.

I also ran my third Half Marathon during this month, and I thought Brad would propose that weekend but he didn't. But the Next weekend. September 22, Brad was excited and I knew something was up. He took me to the pond behind the bank of Arizona building and proposed there. Of course I said yes. That night he took me salsa dancing and we had a great time.

August 2006

As a late hoorah before my first semester of college came my family headed up to Utah for my Cousin Will Haurand's Wedding. We Stayed with Spencer and  Emily and their kids in Riverton.

This trip was fun for Brad and I and we were really able to spend a lot of quality time together.

July 2006

This the very beginning of Brad and Lisa.. We went on our first date on May 27th shortly after I Graduated high school.  We went to the driving range and then played Jenga and Battleship. We watched emperor's new groove and ate Ice Cream Sandwiches. I was so nervous to be going on a date with a Returned Missionary, but things went well.  We went to quite a few single adult activities together and then I got scared and wasn't sure I wanted to go out with him again. But after about a week I realized I missed his attention.  By my birthday weekend, we had gone on several more dates, held hands, kissed and soon we were officially dating.

We went on some fun dates this summer, Ice skating, Seeing the musical,the wizard of oz, seeing Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and staying out way too late, and playing volley ball and getting caught in a HUGE monsoon after. 

 Brad let me try to cut his hair. It took FOREVER and I was so stressed out! 

My Grandpa Andersen passed away in July. He had lived with my family for so many years. What a sweet, sweet Danish man. Even as his mind seem to go, he had a good sense of humor and was very patient. I'm grateful for the example he set in his life as a temple worker and avid gardener.
