I need to document some of the funny things Makenna says these days. I know this is just a lot of writing, but I haven't done well at all at writing down the things she says, so I needed to get these down before I forget about them.
Makenna has responded very well to time out for discipline. But, she doesn't call it time out.. she calls it "time medicine". She came up with that all on her own, and it is a very appropriate name. Now, it has morphed into "time mountain", which makes no sense, but is very cute.
Around Christmas time, Makenna started sleeping in her big girl bed. She quickly started exercising her freedom to get out of bed. She would get out of bed with her little blanket on her shoulder. We would come up the stairs to put her back in bed and she would have a little smug smile and say things like "I really tired, I go back to bed" or "It's still night time, I go back to bed". Now, we have resorted to locking her door. We hear her little steps run across the floor, she tries to open the door, and then most of the time just goes right back to bed.
Makenna says her own prayers before bed. "Heavenly Father, thank you for this day, amen!" Short and sweet for now.
Makenna has started calling me "Lisa" almost all the time. I kinda miss being called mommy, but I'm sure it's just a phase.
She says, "I have a nice idea!" or "I have a big problem!", followed with no response of what her great idea is or what her problem is.
If she wants something else to eat or something different to eat she says "My want "someping" else!"
She is starting to "Freegot" (forget) things
Some of her favorite things to eat, mostly breakfast, are "Banas" (bananas), "Ohpeaw" (Oatmeal), "Pantakes" (pancakes), cerlerl (Cereal) and to drink "Milt" (Milk). When she eats peas, she calls herself a "pea monster", then eats a lot of them.
She doesn't just think about things, She "twinkle thinks" about them (this is from Abby's Flying Fairy School on Sesame Street)
Makenna and Tanner sleep in the same room at night, so if Tanner wakes and I go in to check on him, she pops up and says "What's the matter with him?" in a really sassy, funny voice.
And, oh how she loves her "Tanner Boy". She also loves to wake him up. If he falls asleep in the car seat, she yells "Tanner, wake up!" until she succeeds.
Whenever she finds a receipt she calls it a "Vacation", and any kind of brochure she calls a "Map"
Its funny to hear her talk about time. Anything that happened in the past was "Yesterday" and if its in the future its in "Two minutes" or "Toolater" (a combination of tomorrow and later).
I love this little girl! Thanks for keeping us entertained, Makenna.

I love 2-year-oldisms!! Thanks for sharing! And one of my kids called me Sarah for quite a while. It was J or I - can't remember which.
Love these! Mason referred to anything in the past as Lasterday. I thought it made sense.
I loved reading these! You will be so glad you wrote them down.
