Hospital Stay

A couple of weeks ago we had a little bit of a scare with Makenna. She had a cold for a few days and she started wheezing a little bit and the pediatritian's office told us with all the dangers of RSV we better take her in to the ER. When we arrived at the ER they said her Lungs sounded fine, but while we where there I got a call back from the pediatrician's office and they said they just got some results back from a a urine sample they had taken about a week ago and it came back positive with two kinds of bacteria. They had taken the urine sample at the office because she had been losing weight and they were just checking to see if she had any infections. So they admitted Makenna to Cadron's Children's hospital for a urinary tract infection while we waited for the results of a urine sample they took at the hospital. Brad's cousin's husband, Steve M who is a pediactrician at cardons came to be her pediatricain, which we were really grateful for. While at the hospital both Brad and I got sick. So with the stress of school, having a baby in the hospital and not feeling well  ourselves, we were really grateful to be in a hospital close to family. So Makenna had two rounds of antibiotics through an IV, and after two days we got the results back and the urine came back clear! So she didn't have a urinary tract infection after all. It was a false reading from the pediatrician's office. The doctors kept saying she was the healthiest baby they had seen in the hospital and it turns out she probably was! Oh well, it is better to be very cautious with little babies.

Weight Loss infomercial.

For about a week Makenna was starting to lose a little bit of weight, but we started supplementing her with formula and she is starting to chunk up quite nicely. She gained about 2 pounds in 2 weeks!
